Laugh Often

“The room was full of pregnant women and their husbands, and the class was in full swing. The instructor was teaching the women how to breathe properly, along with informing the men how to give the necessary assurances at this stage of the plan.
The teacher then announced, "Ladies, exercise is good for you. Walking is especially beneficial. And, Gentlemen, it wouldn't hurt you to take the time to go walking with your partner!"
The room really got quiet. Finally, a man in the middle of the group raised his hand. "Yes?" replied the teacher.
"Is it all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?"

Well maybe this got you laughing hard or just a chuckle, but I know it made your day brighter.
Our days are filled with things to do, problems to solve and issues. Laughing is just as important as breathing and it truly is the best medicine. Recent studies have revealed that laughing releases a cocktail of hormones, cells and enzymes that actually heal the body. Laughing launches T-cells into your body which is a natural anti-biotic. “Medical studies and journals have also concluded that laughter helps the body to produce and release "Killer Cells" which destroy tumors and viruses, Gamma-Interferon a protein that fights disease, B-Cells which help make many of the disease fighting antibodies found in the human blood stream and more.” (Mike Gagon from Helium.com)

I remember a great film I watched years ago called Patch Adams. A story about a real doctor that still to this day uses humor to heal and bring hope to those in some of the darkest places in life. Now most of us don’t have a Patch Adams in the darkest places of your life but we do have the Holy Spirit and the ability to laugh. Those days are always made better by laughter.

Proverbs 17:2) “ A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
